Nick Hughes

Nick Hughes started working with play equipment in 2005 for Telford & Wrekin Council.  His role included looking after 120 distinct play areas across the borough, including the award winning 400 Acre Telford Town Park.  Anyone who grew up in Telford will be familiar with the 45 feet high, Spiders Web which Nick had to climb regularly to inspect.

“The view from the top is amazing, it’s a right of passage for many Telford children over the past 25 years, and it was an honour to help keep them safe during their climb.”

Following on from Telford & Wrekin, Nick lead a team which managed the Grounds Maintenance for University of Wolverhampton across three sites in Walsall, Telford and of course Wolverhampton.

Launched in 2017, RoSPA qualified Nick now runs Midland Playscape, offering value for money playground services to local authorities, and play area owners, helping them to deliver great play experiences, safely.
